We ARE a socially responsible and conscious business and not a non profit or NGO. As such our activities are targeted for growth and make profit, and in line with this – to widen our concerns and work with more small scale tradesmen in order to increase the positive impact with our model and the knowledge that benefits all involved by sharing and cooperative working environment such as apprenticeship, mentorship and collaboration with vocational centres and organizations. (TIRDO, SIDO)
Our products are signature items, from concept, CAD design, renders, to fabrication and joinery, up to installation, finishing and commissioning.
On a day to day, routine basis we are involved in routine inspections (inhouse IICL certified inspector / surveyor) for shipping container maintenance and repairs. Recently we have trained two casual workers at a depot on how to assess and replace damaged marine container floors to IICL standards. A technique and ability that was very rare in Tanzania few years ago.
An increase in rail as a mode of transport for bulk goods has led to the increased use of SOC (shippers owned containers, or land use units) on the rail network.
The nature of use and the cargo means the containers are subject to harsh usage and sustain vast damages in comparison to the usual maritime damages such as corrosion and the common impact. Armada Tech has secured a number of contracts to conduct routine surveys and steel repairs, floor repairs and recertification of CSC plates for maritime use.
We conduct training on best practice for container restoration and preservation of ‘shelf life’ for containers including rust treatment techniques, materials and promote awareness on latest best practice through research on uses of these containers for homes and other repurposes.
